What is the IOSH Managing Safely Zoom course?
One of the best known and trusted nationally accredited Health and Safety courses delivered in the UK today.
Applicable across the board the IOSH Managing Safely course is aimed at people who are in positions of responsibility in the workplace, including department heads, supervisors, managers and team leaders.
It helps those who are responsible for the safety and welfare of other workers to identify, assess and control workplace risks.
The IOSH Managing Safely training course was first introduced over 20 years ago and was created by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), a globally respected body for Health and Safety professionals that have been lobbying for the highest standards of workplace health and safety across the globe.
The IOSH Managing Safely certificate is now seen as the ‘standard qualification’ for those with a position of responsibility in the workplace, indeed its not unusual to find that this course is the one that sent future Health and Safety professionals on their career paths!
It’s particularly useful for workers seeking further accreditation from the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH).

Course programme and duration
The IOSH Managing Safely course is usually run over 3-days and looks at seven different units.
The classroom day usually lasts from 9am to 5pm for each of the three days, with refreshment and lunch breaks. Minimum total contact time is 22 hours.
The seven units are:
• Unit 1: Introducing managing safely
• Unit 2: Assessing risks
• Unit 3: Controlling risks
• Unit 4: Understanding responsibilities
• Unit 5: Understanding hazards
• Unit 6: Investigating incidents
• Unit 7: Measuring Performance
Assessment and certification
The IOSH Managing Safely course is assessed in two parts.
To successfully pass the candidates have to achieve a pass in a multiple-choice examination that concludes the course at the end of the third day.
The second part takes the form of a practical project, which tests the application of the knowledge learnt in the classroom against workplace scenarios.
If the candidate reaches the required standard on both parts, they will receive an IOSH Managing Safely certificate.
The certificate is sent through the Royal Mail and is posted to the individual or company dependant on who has booked the course and usually arrives within 2-3 weeks after the project is received and marked.
Over 99% of our students pass our health and safety training courses first time round.
If, on a rare occasion, a candidate should fail the assessment, we can arrange for a resit within 20 days.
